The classes (for children aged 5 to 11) are usually held in community centres, schools and other suitable spaces during school term time. This year we also run a one-off summer projects in Westminster and RBKC (The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea).
Teaching Experience is not necessary - Tailored training and ongoing support for volunteer classroom teachers and assistants is provided. We use proven effective whole-class teaching methods.
If you can commit around 90 or more minutes on Saturdays during term-time, you can start as a classroom assistant or by observing a few sessions.
Volunteering with us is a wonderful way to gain experience working with and helping children. Our volunteers typically say they find it extremely rewarding. We can help or provide advice on applying for an enhanced DBS certificate.
